Baltimore has deep roots in that most uniquely American musical genre, jazz. Greats Billie Holiday, Chick Webb, Cab Calloway, Eubie Blake, Ruby Glover, and Ethel Ennis brought jazz to Charm City starting in 1917.
Beautiful Baltimore Tours and Keystone Korner Baltimore, in collaboration with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture, the Eubie Blake Center, Peabody Conservatory, and Intersection of Change, are proud to present this interactive tour experience that celebrates the pivotal role Charm City has played, and continues to play, in the remarkable story of American jazz music.
You'll enjoy a 2-hour coach tour with stops at significant sites where you'll learn the personal stories of legendary artists including a visit to the private collections area of the Lewis Museum to see Billie Holiday's piano!*
And of course, you'll experience the music too with an audio presentation by Keystone Korner Jazz Club's very own Cheryl Goodman.
End at Keystone Korner where your night can continue with dinner, drinks, and free admission to the Open Jam Session (yes, you can bring an instrument on the bus!) or purchase a discounted ticket for one of their world class jazz concerts. Keystone Korner is Baltimore's Premier Live Jazz and R&B Venue and Restaurant by NEA Jazz Master Todd Barkan and Michelin-Star Chef Robert Wiedmaier. Celebrating their 53rd Anniversary, as well as their 7th year in the city, Keystone Korner hosts live music and fabulous food almost every night, Tuesday-Sunday, in scenic Harbor East/Fells Point.
